Finding the right counsellor is about more than qualifications or experience. It's about finding someone you feel comfortable and safe talking to—someone trustworthy and you can imagine sitting with, sharing your thoughts and feelings, without fear of judgement.
I know that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, and choosing who to trust with your story isn't always easy. My hope is that this page gives you a sense of who I am and how I aim to be alongside you.
My name is Jude. I'm a qualified qualified psychodynamic and integrative counsellor (Dip Couns, Ind BACP) working with adults (18+) and practising privately from a tranquil counselling room in Histon, Cambridge, as well as online across the UK and outdoor walking therapy. Alongside my private practice, I also work within the charity sector, supporting adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
I believe that everyone has a unique story, shaped by relationships, experiences and the many ways we develop and learn to navigate life.
I aim to offer a calm, thoughtful, mutually respectful and collaborative relationship where you feel heard, accepted and able to explore whatever feels important, at a pace that feels comfortable.
Alongside support and reflection, there may also be times when I gently challenge long-held assumptions, patterns or ways of relating, helping you notice both your strengths and the possibilities that may have felt out of reach.
My hope is that counselling offers a relationship in which you can feel safe enough to be curious about yourself, discover what feels right for you, and move towards living in a way that feels more authentic.
What drew me to counselling, and continues to do so, is the privilege of sitting alongside another person as they begin to understand themselves more deeply and the difference that self-awareness can make to their life and future.
I've always been interested in what lies beneath the surface of our experiences- how the mind works, the interplay between mind and body, and how our genetics, relationships, life experiences and personal histories quietly shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us. Time and again, I've seen, and experienced myself, how being genuinely heard and thoughtfully understood can create space for something to shift.
For me, counselling isn't about having the answers. It's about me offering a relationship where reflection, curiosity and compassion can help someone develop greater self-compassion for what they have survived and continue to carry, while reconnecting with their own strengths, discovering new perspectives, and moving in a way that feels authentic to them.
I am committed to providing a safe, ethical and reflective counselling practice.
Regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development help ensure my practice remains thoughtful, informed and responsive to current professional guidance and standards.
