You're here.

Perhaps you’ve taken the first step towards understanding something difficult, making sense of your experiences, or creating positive change in your life.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or simply aware that something needs to change.  You may also be someone who appears capable and resilient to others, yet privately carries high expectations, self-criticism, pressure, or the feeling that you can never quite be enough.

Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to work it through alone.

Welcome.

Creating space to understand yourself more deeply and explore new possibilities for change.

At Ripple Within, I offer a warm, reflective and supportive space where you can begin to explore your experiences at your own pace.

In-person counselling in Histon, online sessions across the UK, and walking therapy.

A space to be heard, understood and supported

Counselling offers a confidential space where you can speak openly and begin to make sense of what you are feeling, experiencing, and carrying.

I aim to hear you, see you, and support you as we work together to consider the patterns, relationships and experiences that may be shaping your life.

It is not about being judged or told what to do.  It is a space for reflection, insight and possibility.

You may recognise yourself here

People come to counselling for many different reasons.  You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, grief, overwhelm, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, a loss of self, family issues, work-related stress, health concerns or uncertainty about the future.

You may also find yourself constantly striving, overthinking, trying to meet expectations, or feeling that no achievement ever feels enough or there's never any let up.  For some people, success on the outside can sit alongside exhaustion, imposter feelings, unstable self-worth, constant comparison, fear of failure, or difficulty switching off.

Or perhaps you simply know that something doesn't feel right.  You may struggle to put your experience into words, feel confused about why you're feeling as you do, or find yourself carrying something that feels increasingly difficult to hold alone.  Whatever brings you here, you don't need to have everything worked out before beginning therapy.  Sometimes the first step is simply having a space where you can begin to think, feel and understand yourself more freely.

My approach

I work in an integrative way, informed by psychodynamic thinking.  This means I'm interested not only in what is happening in your life now, but also in the deeper patterns, relationships and experiences that may have shaped who you are, how you feel, relate to others, and perceive yourself.

Together, we can gently explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion.  Through this process, therapy can help you develop greater insight, strengthen your sense of self and open up possibilities for change and enhanced well-being.

If you'd like to know more about how I work and what to expect from counselling, you can read more on my About Me page.

Why Ripple Within?

I believe that small moments of insight can create meaningful change.

When ripples spread across water, they reveal where they began, how they travel, and how they are shaped by everything they encounter.   In turn, they gently influence the water and environment around them.   For me, this reflects how our experiences, relationships and environment shape us, while our growing knowledge of ourselves can begin to influence the way we live, our relationships, choices, confidence, boundaries, sense of self, and what may feel possible.

My hope is that therapy can help you reconnect with strengths and capacities that may have been there all along or support you in discovering and developing new ones.  In time, this can help you navigate life's inevitable internal and external ripples with greater confidence, compassion and resilience; while creating the ripples and changes you would like to see in your own life.

Taking the next step

You're warmly invited to get in touch if something you've read has resonated with you or you feel that counselling with me might be right for you.

I offer a free 20-minute introductory conversation- which is an opportunity to ask questions, tell me a little about what has brought you here and see how it feels to speak together.
